The ATF released an open letter applying Silencer Shop Foundation v. ATF across the country. Here is the short version :
In the free states (Maryland is a free state) suppressors can transfer on a 4473 with a background check. No NFA approval, no registration. Under Maryland sate law , SBRs and SBSs are legal, and the state still requires the NFA Form 4 process.
SBRs and SBSs require a Form 4.
Maryland bans SBRs and SBSs unless they are registered with the federal government. Maryland’s assault weapon and purchase rules may also apply.
What did not change. You still keep records and run NICS. Mac
